(was: Having dug further in, it seems that the ExitedEvent will always occur
before the Reregistration attempt. This is because we detect the socket is
closed by failing to recv or send data, and we must successfully receive data
to trigger the Reregistration.
If libev was multithreaded this might be more of an issue but it's not.)
