Kubernetes has really eaten Mesos' lunch and it's disappointing. Especially considering the approach of the original paper; to be actually cross-platform. Solaris Zones; Linux namespaces, cgroups; BSD jails; etc. Even just the whole decentralised resource-offer concept would be useful in a Kubernetes-centric world; just a bunch of architectural rethinking to make this viable.
