I'm interested in a Java network framework that would allow me to connect to a

Basically I'm looking for a form of RMI, but where server is initiating calls
back to the initiating process. Does MINA support this? If not, any
suggestions? Thanks,

Yes, MINA supports such a case. You can do whatever you can imagine
with Java network programming.
