My 2 cents for this future big event.
For Trustin question:
- DIRMINA-382 close feature waiting for all messages to be written
For me it could be interesting since it would allow another way to close
connections from a server in a clean approach. However, the close with a
timeout is probably still the better approach (since we can expect that
after a while, even if messages are not fully written, the client is
probably gone a long time ago...).
- DIRMINA-302 and any approach that could tend to minimize the OOME.
I agree that one can use Throttle filter (read, write and connection as in
389), but for me, as I am not an expert, it becomes somehow hard to
determine where to put the limit.
For Mark question:
I think that Mina is getting better considering documentation. Of course,
like any project, more is better. Perhaps I would suggest to use some of the
examples (SumUp, Proxy) in a plain web page with comments. Of course, one can
say that reading source code should be enough but it could be easier to read
them carefully inside something between quick start guide and advanced topic.
Also, performance tips could be interesting, even if I know that it should be
always quoted with something like "in a general way" and "could not be adapted
to all kind of protocol".
However, it is a FAQ that is coming again and again on the mailing list.
I want just to take this opportunity to say that I am really impressed by this
project. Mina was probably the rock that was missing in my project when I
started to think about it.
And when I found it, one year ago, I started very quickly my own project
(OpenLSD and currently OpenLSM and OpenR66).
My project depends on Mina in trunk version, and one year later, as I said
before, we have done the integration process (june-july). In September we will
enter in pre-production (one step before entering in production probably before
the end of the year).
Having an official stable 2.0.0-M1 should make the production step easier of
course.
So I really want to say Thank you to all of you for the great job and
all your help!
