Last time I looked Mina still didn't have first class support for multicast owing to a dependency on multicast nio in JDK 7.
Working around this problem is possible via broadcast UDP but clearly that's not as network-friendly thus I'd request consideration for implementing full multicast support. Thanks, Dan.
