There are two reports, one for core and the other is for the complete
MINA code base.
Have used basic rules only (rulesets/imports.xml,
rulesets/unusedcode.xml, basic). As and when time permits
shall try to enhance the ruleset usage.

I have checked the trunk, and we don't have any non used imports. Can
you run PMD again on trunk to see if we have the same number of issues ?
I'm sure that many of them have been fixed...
