I wouldn't hold to that statement anymore.
The available s2s spec is now in 'regular XEP' style, just as you find
them on xmmp.org/extensions.

Patches are welcome!

Vysper does not have s2s federation right now, but that shouldn't be too
difficult, as s2s is modeled after c2s.
