Yes, you are right. I completely remove password caching from patch.
LDAP server performance depends on many parameters (database size, number of
clients, complexity of the filters, the effectiveness of the server-side caches
on the LDAP server, etc.) ... LDAP on a laptop is not a good example - it does
not look like a real environment.
In any case, you're completely right - the price of a full caching is too high!
