As part of SSHD-712 and SSHD-815 we want to make the SSHD code more modular so 
that users may pick-and-choose what features they want in, with a minimum 
amount of transitive dependencies. Furthermore, such modularity enables easier 
patching/bug fixing/features as it makes changes more localized and easier to 
track/develop/debug
