Subject: [Moblin Dev] Problem with Xephyr

Hi All,

I am just starting to put together the tools on Moblin.org
to set up for development. I was going through the steps detailed on
the site to get Moblin Image Creator installed and start a project. I
got MIC set up just fine, although I had to install one additional
package (curl) that wasn't mentioned on the "Preparing for Development"
page.

I run into trouble only when I get to the part about installing and
using Xephyr. When I try to open the Xephyr window, this is what I get:

Setting screen resolution to 1024x600

DISPLAY already set to :0.0

Starting dbus

 * Starting system message bus dbus
[ OK ]

 * Starting network connection manager NetworkManager
[ OK ]

 * Starting network events dispatcher NetworkManagerDispatcher
[ OK ]

 * Starting System Tools Backends system-tools-backends
[ OK ]

Starting UI in Xephyr

Extended Input Devices not yet supported. Impelement it at line 625 in
../../../../hw/kdrive/src/kinput.c

Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/X11/cyrillic, removing
from list!

Could not init font path element
/var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType, removing from list!

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE
"/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

I think I have followed the instructions exactly. I have put the: xhost
+SI:localuser:root in the workstation window. I tried both the long
version and ume-xephyr-start and I get the same message no matter what.

Just to make sure, I've reinstalled the OS (Ubuntu 8.04.1) and installed
everything over again with the same result.

Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem is?

Thanks,

Judy
