You can follow our boot performance progress via the "Ubuntu Boot" team mailing
list.  You can join the team here:
 https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-boot
We are *extremely* driven to improve the overall boot time in Jaunty across all
hardware types, i.e. netbooks, laptops, desktops, etc., and I think you will be
pleasantly surprised with the performance of the final product. In addition, we
are actively engaged with the development of Moblin and tracking the changes
that go into Moblin v2 Core.
