"ifconfig -a" does not show eth0. Is this a known issue? Any help on how to

lspci shows the following:
09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5752 Gigabit
Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02)
I just checked and the driver should be there...
do you happen to know which driver other linuxes use ?
