Hi,
X is not broken, the update from alpha to the current tree is not supported
using YUM atm because of various major changes.
This problem can be fixed by replacing /etc/inittab with /etc/inittab.rpmnew
and changing the runlevel to 5 (from default 3).

I may have just "done this wrong", but I was attempting to update a
netbook from the Moblin Core Alpha 1 image to the current state of
development.

Image was installed from USB onto a Dell Mini 9.

I changed the repo path in /etc/yum.repos.d/moblin-devel.repo to
http://repo.moblin.org/moblin/development/core/ia32/os/ and enabled it;
while disabling the one in moblin.repo itself.

I then ran "yum upgrade --skip-broken"

And then rebooted.

Now all I get is:

INIT: cannot execute "/etc/X11/prefdm"
INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
