Hi,
I am experiencing I/O errors when booting burned iso images downloaded
from moblin.org website. The following messages repeatly fill the screen :
[] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 872448
[] Buffer I/O error on deveic sr0, logical block 218112
[] Buffer I/O error on deveic sr0, logical block 218113
It ends with message :
Unable to find persistent overlay, using temporary.
The issue is the same with alpha1 and alpha2, core and developer images.
Maybe sector and logical block numbers changes from an image to another.
The reported above message come from last dev-alpha2 image.
I tried several CD-RW, burners and USB DVD Readers, the issue is the same.
Afterall boot can go on and bring up the moblin system on most hardware
I tried :
- Dell mini 9
- Asus eeePC 701 (no gui but this hardware is not supported since it is
build from a Pentium M, so it's quite normal).
- Dell optplex GX620 Desktop PC.
On my Assus eeeBox B202 the boot stops complaining it can't mount the
root file system and fail back to a single user mode shell where no
commands are available. This quite annoying since I didn't achieve any
boot from an USB stick with this hardware. Ubuntu 8.10 LiveCD can boot
with same hardware (same eeeBox *and* same external DVD reader).
Did any of you got similar cases ?
Regards.
