Hi Terry,

You could make a try installing the moblin2 image to a primary
partition. Thanks!

Best regards
Wan Shuang

Hi, terry:

Thanks for your info. It is a udev issue which is tracked by bug #382, it
has been fixed in latest udev package (version >= 136-15.1).
For a quick fix, you can modify the /etc/udev/makedev.d/00-base.files, add
nodes sdb5, sdb6 as below.
   b /dev/sdb5 0660 root root 8 4
   b /dev/sdb6 0660 root root 8 4

Thank.

Hi Terry,

On our side it's ok to install Molbin on a multiple partition disk.
Could you provide more information of your hardware? Some software config file
and log are also very useful to figure out your problem. More particularly the
grub.conf file and kernel message saved in the /var/log/messages. Or even take
a photo of the error message you met.

Thanks!

Best regards
Wan Shuang

Subject: [Moblin Dev] Moblin alpha 2 partition error
Dear all:

I have a small question about the new Moblin alpha 2.
I have made the disk 2 partitions for multiple OS and data saving, and I
tried to use USB
made from MIC to boot and install. But somehow I can't boot after install.
My friend boot
successfully just once after installing. Thank you for your helping.

Error message:

 i8042 controller self-test failed (0x77!=0x55)

And it told me super block could read ext2 file system which should work
theoretically.

Should I edit menu.lst or do something?

Do you have the same question? Thank you for your helping.
