in cases where I use the same distro in a lot of places (machines,
vm's, etc.) I will often set up to rsync the updates part of a
repository, mirroring that piece can save a lot of network beans
if you can update all your instances from a local repo.  So I'd 
endorse this, too, particularly for updates once there's a release 
to supply updates to :)
