Thanks for your answer Arjan, I am using the VMWare image "moblin-netbook-core-alpha2-vmware-20090311.tar.bz2" from moblin.org, this comes with 2.6.29.rc7-40.1.moblin2-netbook kernel, that is the reason why I care. Would it be a good idea to switch to install 2.6.29.1 kernel in this image ?
Regards, Jonathan PS: I cannot share the source code for the modem driver as this is not open-source unfortunately... -----Original Message----- From: Arjan van de Ven [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, May 06, 2009 1:58 PM To: Jonathan De Cesco Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Moblin Dev] Kernel headers for 2.6.29.rc7-40.1.moblin2-netbook kernel Jonathan De Cesco wrote: > Hi I have a moblin2 image with 2.6.29.rc7-40.1.moblin2-netbook kernel. > I am trying to compile a modem driver module which requires kernel headers. > I tried to download them using yum/yumdownloader but the only available > headers are for kernel 2.6.29.1.18... > Is there a way to get kernel header for my specific kernel? I wonder why you care about the rc7 kernel; it's much older than the 2.6.29.1 one, and not as great and bug free.... Also, can you give us a link to the source code of that driver? Sounds like a good candidate for the staging tree/etc.... __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4055 (20090506) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4058 (20090507) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com _______________________________________________ Moblin dev Mailing List [email protected] To manage or unsubscribe from this mailing list visit: https://lists.moblin.org/mailman/listinfo/dev or your user account on http://moblin.org once logged in.
