As an environment new to me, due diligence requires that i ask about possible issues of those that are more informed.

It seems clear that some UI features/services are undergoing work, it seemed a fair question to ask of the lowest layer in the stack.

None.  Why would there be?

In the kernel rpm package.  There are very few patches, most of them
are already in the upstream kernel tree.
