Thanks Rusty I have experimented again with commenting-out items in the %packages section of netbook-core.ks. The first was @Gnome Desktop leaving the rest enabled. I had hoped that it would have left me with a working X. I don't believe that I have (knowingly) removed any kernel section.
Removing @Gnome Desktop appears to have messed up the graphics interface because I got random vertical coloured bars and nothing else. I am using the eeeBox as test target until the real Atom PC104 card arrives. It looks like the eeeBox uses the Intel GMA 950 chipset. How can I edit/rebuild the contents of the modules in the %packages section to remove selected applications.? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rusty Lynch" <[email protected]>; "Rusty Lynch" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Cc: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 06, 2009 11:48 PM Subject: Re: [Moblin Dev] Newby to Moblin > On Wed, 2009-05-06 at 12:33 -0700, [email protected] wrote: > > Firstly I apologize for my lack of knowledge of Moblin. > > > > I am at that stage where I need to get some limited success to give me > > confidence to do the more adventurous. > > > > I have a Fedora9 environment set up with most of the tools installed > > successfully. > > I have run moblin-image-creator-2 on the example netbook-core.ks, produced a > > CD and run it on a Atom based EEEBox successfully. > > I now need to produce my own .ks files to make a simple target system that > > initially only includes X and xterm and a minimal root file system. > > Editing netbook-core.ks by commenting out lines of %packages section made > > images that crashed when run.
