Hello,

This might be an unusual problem: I want to lower the resolution in
Moblin v2 Beta. My LCD monitor reports 1600x1200 max res. to the card
and moblin uses that and works well. Problem is, for testing I need
1024x768 or even lower (to simulate the target device). My developer
system is based on Atom Z230 and 945 chipset.

When using the "Display Preferences" applet I can change the screen
resolution and it somehow works, just not very well. The problem is -
the resolution changes but somehow the m_zone and the toolbar remembers
the max resolution is higher and they don't scale, i.e. I can't see the
application buttons on the bottom of the m_zone, as well as the social
networking section on the right. On the toolbar, rightmost icons
disappear off the screen (network and volume).

I tried using 'xrandr -s 1024x768' but the outcome is exactly the same
as from "Display Preferences".

My suspicion is I have to somehow make the system forget it even has
higher resolutions available and boot into a lower one. I tried with
'xrandr --rmmode' and '--delmode' but for some reason they don't permit
removing any mode.

Any help?

Thanks,
Piotr Kempa
