Hi all

I have a brand new Eee PC 100HE Which has two 60g partitions.

Being new to all this and not wanting to mess up my new PC, I wanted to try to install Moblin to a SDHC. That doesn't seems to work.

So, since my second 60g partition is still empty, can I repartition that using XP and create a 40g and two10g partitions. The smaller partitions to be used for Moblin and maybe another Lunix flavor?

Are 10 gig partitions big enough or too big....what's a good size?

And lastly, when I install Moblin and it asks where to install the bootloader, can I install to sda1 without screwing up my XP partition?

I told you that I'm a noob to all this :)
hi bill,

i am using a 4gb usb thumb drive for my moblin beta image. my EeePC 1000 comes with xandros which i dont want to hose (yet).

i used the web pages to copy the beta image to the usb drive and use that to boot from. (press escape during boot to list alternate boot devices), select your usb thumb drive and away you go.

next i do use an sd drive too, i use that for my data shuttle between FC and moblin, i write stuff on it while mounted on my FC10 env, plug it into the EeePC, boot and all my setup stuff gets sent to the moblin env all the while not tampering with the xandros install on HD.

last but not least, the convenience addition of ssh allows me to log into my moblin target after boot so i can use my normal
workstation to work on the moblin platform via the lan.

hth, jackc...
