Below applying moblin-chroot-convert-only, could u check /boot/grub/grub.conf
file in your chroot moblin system, see if it is consistent with your kernel
version?

Subject: [Moblin Dev] Create usbimg with rebuild kernel but found grub error

Hi,

I rebuild kernel in moblin-chroot environment used antoher
CONFIG_LOCALVERSION . After make install, I found the following files in
/boot :

vmlinuz -> /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.29.3-myversion
vmlinuz-2.6.29.3-myversion
vmlinuz-2.6.29.3-13.1.moblin2-netbook

Also I found 3 System.map files in /boot. I used moblin-chroot
--convert-only to get usbimg. it reported:

Unable to copy valid kernels or initrds, please check the repo

After deleted the original vmlinuz-2.6.29.3-13.1.moblin2-netbook and
System.map-2.6.29.3-13.1.moblin2-netbook, I got the usbimg for new kernel.

The liveOS of myvesion kernel can run without any error. But when i install
the OS, reboot the netbook , a grub error report:

Error 15: File not found

Press any key to continue...

GNU GRUB list a single line : Moblin(2.6.29-3.1.moblin-netbook).

To boot the system , I had to edit the command, changed vmlinuz file from
vmlinuz-2.6.29-3.1.moblin2-netbook to vmlinuz-2.6.29.3-myversion.

How to create usbimg when using another vmlinuz name?

Best regards

Wei
