Hi Hao, Alsa does not detect the sound card. But in lspci, I can see 00:1b.0 Audio device : Intel Corporation System Controller Hub HD audio Controller.

If alsa works fine, su the user who logged in UI by default( you could use "ps -eaf | grep pulseaudio" =>find the user name, su the user in terminal), run "pactl list", check if module "module-alsa-card" or similar alsa module loaded, and check if alsa sink/source available, ex. If Sink " alsa_output.pci_8086_27d8_sound_card_0", source " alsa_input.pci_8086_27d8_sound_card_0" are there. If not, which means pulseaudio hasn't detected alsa module by default(via loaded module "module-hal-detect"). Normally it's due to sound card mad driver issue.
