I've tried to run V2 Beta 20090818 001 under VMware. Installation went
well, however when starting the machine, 'moblin' appears in the middle of
the screen(white with black background) and than nothing else happens. I
waited over 30 minutes.
Some useful information:
Host: Win XP Prof x64 SP2, with ATI Radeon X1050 graphic card
WMvare: Workstation 6.0
Virtual machine:
- I used "other linux version with kernel 2.6.x" while creating VM. I
installed moblin with "boot and install".
- 256 MB RAM
- 8 GB HDD(IDE)
- CD-ROM autodetect,
- Ethernet bridged,
- Display: use host settings
I already tried to use SCSI for HDD, tried to set display to 640x480 and
800x600, but nothing helped.
At the beginning of booting the HDD icon of the machine(right bottom corner
of VMware) is full green and I can hear HDD beeing used, after few seconds
it stops and that's it.
Unable to find persistend overlay: using temporary.
Is my WMware not configured well? Is something wrong with my host?
I also tried to use "boot" option while starting moblin from CD, it wend on
working with CD and HDD and after few minutes they stopped, me still having
bloack screen, and than nothing happened.
I'm a bit confused, but I must have done something not correct.
Anyone has a clue?
