You could use usbmodeswitch in conjunction with the usbserial driver, I've used 
it for the "alcatel ot x020" and I've written something about that on my blog:

Works perfet in ubuntu 9.04 without tricks but in Moblin 2.1 is recognized as a 
USB disk.
