With the "illegal instruction" messages, I'm guessing your issue is your
system's processor.  You have a Celeron M 300, not the Atom chip, in your
1000HD.  For Moblin, your processor needs to support the SSSE3 instruction set
extensions, which the Atom does.  If I'm interpreting this Wikipedia page
correctly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSSE3) it looks like you would need a
Celeron M 500.  (Embarassingly, I'm not able to confirm this from Intel's web
site.)  If you can boot into Windows, you might be able to use the cpuz utility
to determine the instruction set extension support of your processor.

Now with smaller image...
Keepin on trying to boot on this EEEPC 1000HD. All the USB stuff was easy,
some things suggested I've already done, boot order and so on (thanks to
your help also...) but now the system boots and stops at the point seen in
the image.
Any ideas for a non-linux literate like me?
Thanks (and if there's a more proper forum where to address these whinings,
tell me so - I hope this is the most adequate one)....
