Just a curious, are we going to have an IDE environment for application development on Moblin roadmap?

If you like Java, then you will probably like Python. My niggle is that even with the development build the repo is missing IDE's. Even IDE's like 'Eric' or 'Idle' are missing which are standard with Python. I guess you are correct, having to start writing app's in 'C' when you have had the joy in working in more high level languages for a time seems like a step back. Maybe that could be an alternative to writing in C and making things a bit easier to develop an app in Moblin? I dabbled with writing C# a couple of apps in Windows and seeing how they would work in Linux, so there is an opportunity to use a higher-level language like C# for Moblin apps, especially since the Mono packages are there in Moblin 2.1. > Interested at your ideas about enabling engineers to create apps on > Moblin platform. > > Is that something like java environment? > > > William > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf > Of David Woolbright > Sent: Sunday, November 22, 2009 2:42 AM > To: Moblin > Subject: [Moblin Dev] User experience strategy > > Moblin dev team, > > I love your os. Today I've installed ghc-6.10.4 (Haskell compiler) along with gtk+ bindings (gtk2hs) and tried few demos. It works nicely on Moblin running under vbox VM. Yes, I plan to write for Moblin in Haskell...having nbtk bindings would be cool, although there is project wiht clutter bindings on github (called 'clutter'). So, let's expand choice of programming languages available for Moblin development. ;) Sincerely, Gour -- Gour | Hlapicina, Croatia | GPG key: F96FF5F6 ---------------------------------------------------------------- -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Firstly, when mouse cursor enter into the button area, there is an enter_event triggered and invoke the mnb_toolbar_button_enter Then, the button will check if the button is "checked". If no, the enter_event will be dispatched to parent class and invoke the handler of parent class (->NBTK button) And then, in NBTK button class, enter_event handler set the button to "hover" status, dispatch to parent class (-> NBTK bin -> NBTK widget) Finally, in NBTK widget, the handler enter_event will call function nbtk_widget_show_tooltips. This function will find the button tooltip (here is "myzone") and show it. You'd better to read NBTK codes like NBTK button, NBTK widget and NBTK tooltip. Hope it is helpful :) Thanks, Lei Y From: Eric [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 24, 2009 12:01 PM To: Yang, Lei A Cc: moblin Subject: Re: [Moblin Dev] tooltip text Thanks for your response.
