IEGD provides a pre-OS driver for supporting boot splash screen. You should probably take a look at the IEGD driver page on: http://edc.intel.com/Software/Downloads/IEGD/
Check out the documentation listed in the column on the right such as: "Intel(r) Embedded Graphics Drivers, EFI Video Driver, and Video BIOS User's Guide" regards joel -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Kok, Auke Sent: Monday, January 04, 2010 9:57 AM To: Aaron Brice Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Moblin Dev] poulsbo framebuffer driver Aaron Brice wrote: > So, I have one of these horrible GMA500 chips, and using the latest > IEGD I've got X11 running. Are there no framebuffer drivers for the GMA500? I actually don't know that > Anyone have a boot splash screen working with the GMA500? since AFAICT iegd doesn't use KMS, and it's not running in a framebuffer, there is no way to paint a nice boot splash screen.
