Hi,
Wondering if we ever got to the bottom of this?
I have a similar problem, I created an entry in /usr/share/applications but the
Icon only appears in 'Other', how can I make it showup in say 'Media'?
App launches fine.
Thanks
Costas

Thx!
as i so far know only to click on it to launch, i wonder is there a
better way to debug its failure to launch?
left over log files, maybe a launch method from the command line or
something?
In any case, thx for your time, jackc...

I don't see anything wrong with it at first glance. See

These don't seem like related questions at all. So I changed the
subject and I'll answer the easy one.
Create a .desktop file. Put it in
/usr/local/share/applications/<.desktop file> Look in that
directory for other exapmles. Point the Exec value to the location
of the program on your system.

How does one determine at runtime if an application is running in
the moblin
desktop environment? Is there an env var that software can query
to determine
that the desktop (and tools and env) are Moblin/Moblin compliant?
Something
similar to GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID?
There currently isn't. Can you explain why you would need such a
thing? If it
makes sense, I can see about adding this to uxlaunch....
