For the exact name of the servers you need in settings.xml you can look at what maven does when deploying (mvn -X is your friend), or look at the parent poms: https://svn.mojo.codehaus.org/mojo/trunk/mojo/mojo-sandbox/pom.xml https://svn.mojo.codehaus.org/mojo/trunk/mojo/pom.xml Your plugin should inherit from them, so your settings.xml should contain a <server> entry with the following ids: - mojo.website for site deployment on beaver - snapshots for snapshot deployment - repo1 for release deployment (if you plan to release a non snapshot artifact). Better to put all of these. By default the url are scp://, so you will need to write your key information in your settings.xml (and maybe the key path). I personally prefer the scpexe protocl. (I started a thread on that in this list a couple of days ago).
