-1 (non-binding) IMHO it's inferiour to the jboss docbook plugin (used by hibernate, ...) and the agilejava docbook plugin (used by spring-osgi, ...).

I think it's much better to put some effort in merging maven-docbook-plugin (=mojo, ASL?) with maven-jdocbook-plugin (=jboss, license?) and docbkx-maven-plugin (=agilejava, ASL).

The jboss plugin:
http://labs.jboss.com/maven-jdocbook-plugin/index.html
Used in hibernate:
http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/hibernate/core/trunk/documentation/manual/pom.xml

The agilejava plugin
http://code.google.com/p/docbkx-tools/
Used in spring-osgi:
http://springframework.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/springframework/spring-osgi/trunk/docs/pom.xml?revision=9224&view=markup

With kind regards,
Geoffrey De Smet

I'd like to ask someone [maybe even me] to release new version of
docbook-maven-plugin.

Important fixes:
MOJO-775: Illegal value: $language used for NMTOKEN attribute: lang
MOJO-484: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /.../target/site/docbook/book.html

I give my +1.
