Hi there,

I recently picked up the apt plugin that was sat in the sandbox to use
and improve it towards a stable release. In doing so, vast chunks of
code were refactored and rewritten and mojo parameters were changed.
The problem is that I've recently discovered that some people have
been using the snapshot that has been sitting there for 1.5yrs and
have been affected by my recent changes.

I've been in discussion with the original creator of the plugin and he
has requested that we make an alpha release of the original codebase
and then move my work to trunk. So I'm proposing:

1) Move apt-maven-plugin out of the sandbox
2) Release r6007 of the plugin as 1.0-alpha-1
3) Move my recent changes to the trunk as 1.0-alpha-2-SNAPSHOT

I'm also in discussion with the Tobago team to replace their fork of
the apt plugin with the codehaus version, so once any changes have
been made to accommodate their build then I would see 1.0-alpha-2
being released.

Has anyone got any objections to this?

Cheers,

Mark
