I have a partial fix for this http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MOJO-1125.
It's not ideal and currently doesn't use timestamps for the SNAPSHOT portion,
however it stops RPM complaining/not working properly with versions containing
'-'.
It simply converts '-' to '_' in version strings.
