I had the same error but without using pluginManagment in the parent.
the first project would work fine but the other 2 returned ClassNotFound
exception.

I downloaded Claude's correction and built a snapshot of the plugin
(1.2-SNAPSHOT from trunk) with it and it worked just fine.
After that I formatted it using maven standard formatter for eclipse. I then
noticed a loop cycle that was printing classpath entries with a sysout and
removed it.
I made a patch for the class after one more successful build.
