The Ar implementation is also available in commons compress (still in
sandbox though)
In fact it's the same code as in jdeb :)

Don't re-invent the wheel. Despite the version number jdeb is in
production for quite some time now :)
jdeb even provides a maven plugin so the important bits should be easy
to steal I guess.
