Subversion Client version conflict error message is vague
---------------------------------------------------------
Key: MOJO-1307
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MOJO-1307
Project: Mojo
Issue Type: Bug
Environment: Subversion 1.5.4, Mac OS X, Java 1.6
Reporter: James Kingsbery
When running the build number plugin, I get the following error message:
Provider message:
The svn command failed.
Command output:
svn: This client is too old to work with working copy '.'; please get a newer
Subversion client
This error message leaves it impossible to figure out what is going on - it
doesn't say anything about what Subversion client is actually being used. A
more helpful error message would look like this:
The client /usr/local/bin/svn is a version 1.4 client but the current checkout
was done with a version 1.5 client.
It would also be nice if it was better documented how to configure the
subversion client being used.
