Peter Hayes commented on MVERSIONS-68:
--------------------------------------
Sure. I have a plugin that I had hacked up already (1 1/2 years ago) that sets
the versions of poms that does this. I used the maven-release-plugin code and
just took the parts of it that checked out the files, updated the version, and
checked them back in. Let me see if I can get that to work within this plugin.
> The project's SCM should be used to make sure files are writable

> Affects Versions: 1.0

> We use clearcase and the versions plugin doesn't seem to interact with the
> SCM when updating pom files. It would be useful if this plugin had an option
> to interact with the SCM to make the pom's writable prior to updating and
> optionally check back in files once editing has been completed.
