Please consider adding this functionality to the buildnumber plugin.
It would be incredibly useful to be able to add the revision hash to the
compiled artifact. This would seriously help in case of troubleshooting...
Take a look at http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MOJO-1489 , too, which seems a
rather reasonable and simple addition.
