Cannot run created .war into Tomcat after Eclipse compromise the project

I start from the original GWT maven example project. I launch "mvn package",
deploy the war into Tomcat and it works perfectly.
Then i import the project into Eclipse and I execute the project under the
Google App Engine integrated into Eclipse. Everything works perfectly.
I exit from Eclipse, launch "mvn clean" and then "mvn package", deploy the war
into Tomcat, and it does NOT work anymore !!!!
When I try to go with the browser on the URL I get an error message asking me
to compile the code.
