I'll respond before someone suggesting switching to IntelliJ...

I don't have a problem with Eclipse (Juno) reformatting the license
header. I guess it's some formatting preference. Not sure which one it
would be though.
Here's a screen shot of the comments section of the formatting prefs:

The thing is that I haven't configured anything special. I've just
imported the Maven code style template.
