Stephen Connolly commented on MVERSIONS-193 Create clean goal well the poor-mans scm has two commands that get rid of the .versionsBackup files: versions:commit - gets rid of the .versionsBackup files versions:revert - gets rid of the .versionsBackup files by reverting the original pom.xml files to the backup I toy with making the .versionsBackup files suppressed if the pom has a <scm> section implied / inherited... but that can be tricky to detect.
