Stephen Connolly commented on MVERSIONS-212 LOCKED attributed for <version> element There are some POM manipulation tools that roundtrip via the Modello model and as such you will loose unsupported attributes (i.e. anything other than the classname hints and the combine.children stuff). As such for this to be something that users can rely on, it requires a POM format change.
