I agree max value is less relevant and should be optional, but: 1. it's seems to me weird having min without max 2. I prefer that the build fails if no port is found in range than the build fails later because the port is already occupied oustide the range MBUILDHELPER-48 is related, but does not address situation where port is opened by another process.
