This would give more flexibility - and God knows, we sometimes need it with build system. Anyhow, my fix just skip the 'jboss-esb' packaging preparation if the project's packaging is 'pom'. (Actually, I should probably enhance that, by skipping this in the ESBMojo if the packaging is NOT 'jboss-esb'). It does not seems like a crazy behavior (to me).
