After diving into the code the solution can't be that simple, cause the checkings for the content of REP etc. is used if you have a setupEnvironment file which can and should influence those environment variables. But it's necessary to clear them before calling the environment setup file. This means you can influence the REPO etc. variables from within the environment setup file but it is not influences by any previous call (setting).
