I can confirm that going to com.sun.xml.bind:jaxb-xjc:2.2.6 works, com.sun.xml.bind:jaxb-xjc:2.2.7 does not due to missing com/sun/tools/jxc/SchemaGenerator Add Comment   Mojo's JAXB-2 Maven Plugin / MJAXB-83 Provide support for JDK8 apt and associated tools were marked for deprecation in JDK7 and have now been removed in JDK8 which renders the plugin unusable with JDK8.
