Lots of corporate firewalls disallow NNTP access, so we would be
disenfranchising people.  As to the actual management overhead, my
impression (watching from the sidelines) is that its about a push in
terms of effort.

However, for folks who prefer an NNTP interface, sites like gmane.org
offer two-way mail<->newsgroup linkages for lots of Apache mailing
lists.  And I'm sure they would add the MyFaces lists if needed (but
I'll bet they are already there).
