As an end-user and as someone who answers questions on the
myfaces-user list, I'd really like to see an immediate maintenance
release fixing this issue.   Otherwise, we'll be seeing this issue
continuously reposted until the next release, which could be a long
way off.

Just out of curiosity, what's the plan for version numbering now that
MyFaces 1.1 and JSF 1.1 match, and JSF 1.2 compatibility is a long way
off?

My suggestion would be 1.1.0.x for maintenance releases and maybe
1.1.x.0 for major releases until 1.2 compability is reached.    It'd
be nice to keep the JSF and MyFaces major release numbers in sync if
possible.
