Right now I'm trying to keep my head above water with work, side
consulting, personal life and open source. I think I can find time to
do the build if we can get a consensus.

I marked it as BLOCKER because I do believe this *must* be fixed before
a new myfaces release is made. It's new code which changes behaviour
since the previous release.
I'll try to find time to put together a patch to restore the old
behaviour but I'm really under pressue with a project at the moment and
it's hard to find time to learn how to build and unit-test myfaces.
