OK, I figured out what Bernd was talking about with the parent POM in the snapshot repository. Great idea! I am working on setting up the snapshot repository now.
I am thinking the parent pom should be part of myfaces-tools. Bernd had proposed a tools subproject where we put the archetype plugin and other custom maven stuff. This seems like the best place to put the parent pom also. Then we have the nightly build script (or continuum) build the myfaces-tools stuff first. Followed by other modules (api, commons, impl ,etc.) This way the most up-to-date parent pom is available for all modules. I am thinking: myfaces-tools/trunk/parent-pom/pom.xml. (Or master-pom.xml?)
